An archery tournament on the village green, with the target at 18, 30, 50 and 70 metres. Each right answer sends an arrow into the gold or red, the quicker the closer to the bullseye, and three in a row fires a golden arrow that is a guaranteed bullseye.
Included in every Prep4All plan. Codebreaker HQ is free to try first.

Archery Arena turns the number puzzles of 11+ verbal reasoning into a tournament. A round is 16 arrows in four ends of four, with the target moving back from 18 to 70 metres, and every round includes letter equations, complete the sum, number sequences and related numbers, with equation balancing among the harder sums. The last arrow of each end is a wind challenge: a harder question, eight extra seconds and double points.
A wrong answer is blown wide by the wind and the trap is explained, but the tournament goes on and an answer is never cut off. Questions get harder after a streak and easier after misses. The prize-giving shows your child’s rank, from Novice to Champion, and the review explains every trap. Earn Champion to unlock the Floodlit Final, a night tournament with glowing targets.
Letter sums, number series, complete the sum and number analogies are four of GL Assessment’s 21 verbal reasoning question types.
Questions from the game, for you to try together. Have a go before opening the answer.
If Q × P = 132 and P = 11, what is the value of Q? Q × P = 132 P = 11
Q = 12 — Undo times with divided by: 132 ÷ 11 = 12, so Q = 12. Check: 12 × 11 = 132.
Which number comes next in the series? 6, 8, 14, 22, 36, (?)
58 — Each number is the two before it added together: 6 + 8 = 14, 8 + 14 = 22 and so on. 22 + 36 = 58. The answer is 58.
The numbers in each group are related in the same way. Find the missing number. 2 (10) 5 4 (36) 9 12 (___) 5
60 — The rule: multiply the outside numbers. Test it: 2 × 5 = 10 ✓, 4 × 9 = 36 ✓. Apply it: 12 × 5 = 60.
