What Sherborne Boys (Sherborne School) uses instead

When we checked the school’s admissions pages on 31 August 2026, the ISEB Common Pre-Test was not part of the entry process. What the school uses instead: Quest Assessments. Preparing specifically for the ISEB Pre-Test would not be preparing for this school’s process. Assessment arrangements do change and can differ by entry point, so confirm the current requirements with the school before you plan.

Research note — what we found on the school’s own pages (checked 31 August 2026)

the Sherborne Boys online assessments have 'been designed in partnership with Quest' and cover English, maths and cognitive ability. Now branded Sherborne Boys (Sherborne Schools Group); the site moved from sherborne.org to sherborneboys.group and the old 'Boys sit the ISEB Common Pre-Test in the autumn term' wording is gone from the live pages. CAVEAT: the live site sits behind a Bunny Shield bot challenge that blocked every direct fetch - the finding was recovered by domain-restricted search (three consistent queries) and is worth one human eyeball

What this means if Sherborne Boys (Sherborne School) is on your list

  • Prepare for this school’s own process, not for ISEB

The current process is: Quest Assessments. Ask its admissions office what that involves at your child’s entry point, and what — if anything — it publishes for familiarisation.

  • You may still need the Pre-Tests for other schools

If another school on your list does use the Common Pre-Tests, your child still sits them once in the academic year and that single result is shared with every ISEB school you apply to.

  • Treat ISEB school lists with care

This school still appears on ISEB school lists that have not been re-checked. Where a listing matters to your plans, check it against the school’s own admissions pages — that is the only source we treat as authoritative.
